Captain Babar Azam unhappy with World Cup T20 squad

Rameez Raja, the chairman of PCB, removed four names from the list given by Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam and added four new names.

Sources from PCB indicate that Babar Azam included names like Sharjeel Khan (Fakhar Zaman), Fahim Ashraf, and Usman Qadir, but Rameez Raja had Asif Ali, Khushdal Shah and Azam Khan.

Babar Azam was told by Rameez Raja that this squad is the best and that if they continue to perform, Pakistan will win.

Babar Azam hugged his fellow teammates in the Rameez Raja-formed squad.

The PCB had already announced Pakistan’s 15-member team for the World Cup T20 in September 6. The same squad will play a series against New Zealand and England.

The national squad has been stripped of former captains Sharfraz Ahmed and Sharjeel Khan, Fakhr Zman, Fahim Ashraf, Usman Qadir, and Fakhr Zaman. Shahnawaz Dhani and Usman Qadir are reserve players.

Misbah-ul Haq, the head coach of Pakistan, and Waqar Younis, the bowling coach, resigned only after the announcement about the Pakistan squad. As interim coaches, they have been replaced by Thaqleen Mushtaq & Abdul Razzaq.
