Steven Paul Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco, California. He was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs, and grew up with one sister, Mona Simpson.
Jobs showed an early interest in electronics, and when he was in high school he befriended Steve Wozniak, who shared this interest. The two started working on electronic projects together, and in 1976 they founded the Apple computer company.
Jobs was an innovative and creative thinker, and his vision for Apple was unique.
