In the first element of PSL 7, Islamabad United defeated Peshawar Zalmi by 5 wickets and eliminated them from the event.
The first eliminator of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League. Was played at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore where Peshawar Zalmai batted first. And scored 169 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. In the stipulated 20 overs thanks to a half-century by Kamran Akmal.
In pursuit of the target, thanks to the strong batting of Alex Hales, Islamabad United achieved the required target 3 balls at a loss of 5 wickets.
Will Jess and Alex Hales started the innings for Islamabad. Will Jax was the guest of 1 run but Alex Hales showed his class and scored half century which played an important role in the victory of his team.
Alex Hales was dismissed on 62 off 49 balls with three sixes and six fours. Captain Shadab Khan also returned in full aggression and played an innings of 22 runs.
Azam Khan also played his part in the team’s victory by hitting sixes in the last minute, but he was out after scoring 28 runs on the first ball of the last over, while vice-captain Asif Ali failed in this match and scored only 7 runs. Later he lost his wicket.
In the last over, Islamabad United needed 10 runs to win. On the first ball, Bani Howell sent Azam Khan back to the pavilion. However, Liam Dawson ended the match with a six off the next ball and a four off the third ball.
Salman Irshad bowled very well for Peshawar Zalmai but could not give his team the victory. He took 3 wickets while one wicket went to Bani Howell and one to Khalid Usman.
Earlier, Wahab Riaz Captain of Peshawar Zalmi team decided to bat first after winning the toss against Islamabad United, while Kamran Akmal and Mohammad Haris started the innings. Muhammad Haris fell victim to Faheem Ashraf after scoring 12 runs.
After which Yasir Khan came for batting but he too could make only 8 runs. However, Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik played responsible innings. Both scored half-centuries in the crucial match.
Kamran Akmal played an innings of 58 off 39 balls which included 2 sixes and 7 fours while Shoaib Malik scored 55 off 43 balls which included 2 sixes and 4 fours.
Hussain Talat played an innings of 28 runs. For Islamabad United, Hassan Ali took 3 wickets, Faheem Ashraf and Shadab Khan took one wicket each.
Many changes have been made in both teams for today’s match. Captain Shadab Khan has returned to Islamabad United, while Alex Hales has rejoined the team and Will Jacques will also play his first match for United.
On the other hand, Hazratullah Zazai was not in top 11 by Peshawar Zalmai today and Benny Howell has been given a chance to replace him.

In an interesting match played yesterday, Multan Sultans defeated Lahore Qalandars and reached the final. However, Lahore Qalandars still have one more chance and they will compete against the winning team in the second element while losing today. The team will be eliminated from the event.
