Journey of Islamabad United

Journey of Islamabad United in PSL 7 was mixed. In the beginning, the team was considered the favorite team with Islamabad to win PSL 7, but due to injuries, it became difficult to reach the playoffs.

When the Islamabad team started their journey in PSL 7, they impressed everyone with their excellent performance.

In the first match. Peshawar defeated Zalmi. In the second, Multan defeat by the Sultans. In the third match, Islamabad made it to the top three by defeating Quetta Gladiators.

Colin Monroe then withdrew from the PSL due to injury. In the fourth match, Lahore Qalandars lost by 8 runs. Islamabad regained their confidence by defeating Karachi Kings in the fifth match.

Islamabad lost to Quetta Gladiators in the sixth match and then defeated Karachi Kings in the 7th match.

The team, which looked strong in the beginning, also suffered losses due to captain Shadab Khan‘s injury, Paul Sterling and Alex Hales’ repatriation and failed in the next three matches.

Despite winning four matches in the group stage, the Islamabad team managed to reach the playoffs. When Alex Hales and Shadab Khan returned for Eliminator One, Islamabad United defeated Peshawar Zalmi to make it to Eliminator Two.

Paul Sterling also returned for Eliminator 2 but Faheem Ashraf was ruled out due to injury. Thus, Islamabad lost to Lahore Qalandars and got out of PSL.
