Neymar Jr is a professional Brazilian football player. He was born on the 5th of February, 1992 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His father Neymar Santos Sr. was also a football player. He has played a crucial role in the development of Neymar’s career and life.

Neymar since his childhood has been a fan of street football and loved to play futsal. This helped him hon his dribbling skills, technique and quick movement with the ball.

He started his football journey with the youth team of Santos and then in 2009 he made his professional debut for the senior team Santos. This was the time when Neymar started getting the attention of the big European teams because of his skills and proficiency.

Neymar at FC Barcelona

Those European giants included the Spanish giant club FC Barcelona who after getting impressed by Neymar signed him in 2013.

He was warmly welcomed by the fans and the club. Junior made his debut for FC Barcelona in August 2013 against Levante UD in La Liga.

Neymar managed to win the hearts of the fans very quickly with his dribbling skills and the tricks he does with the ball.

Neymar is a versatile player, he can play at different attacking positions such as winger, striker, attacking midfielder etc.

He started to develop chemistry with the FC Barcelona’s biggest superstar Lionel Messi and the prolific striker Luis Suarez. Together they formed one of the deadliest trios football has ever witnessed. A trio every team feared to face. The trio was named MSN where m stands for Messi s for Suarez and n for Neymar.

Neymar along with his teammates managed to win plenty of titles such as the La Liga title twice, three Copa Del Rey titles, a UEFA Champions League title, and FIFA Club World Cup are few of the many titles he has won with the Catalan giants.

He has played 186 games for FC Barcelona and managed to score 105 goals and has assisted 76 times. It proved to be a really good time for Neymar at Barca.

Paris – The new home of Junior

Then came Paris Saint-Germain who signed Neymar for a world-record fee of €222 million euros in 2017. This became the most expensive football player transfer in the world.

This was a new path for Neymar now in a new team PSG. Fans were excited to see him play for Paris Saint-Germain. He made his debut for PSG in August 2017. He adapted to the playing style of the new team very quickly and also maintained his prolific goal-scoring run. Neymar even in 2022 still plays for the same PSG and has played 144 games scoring 100 goals and assisting 60 times. Has won 4 Ligue 1 titles and a few French Cups hoping to win the UCL for the team in the future.

Neymar Jr. The Face of Modern Brazil Football Team

Neymar has represented his national side Brazil in many competitions such as Copa America, FIFA World Cup, Confederations Cup and the Olympics. He has managed to win trophies with his national side Brazil such as FIFA Confederations Cup, and Olympic Gold Medal (2016) and led his team Brazil to a Copa America Final in 2021 lost to Argentina.

Neymar until now has represented Brazil in over 119 games and has scored 74 goals and grabbed 52 assists. Everyone around the world when they hear Brazil the first player that comes to their mind is Neymar. He has become the face of Brazil football in the world. He is the national hero of Brazil as Brazilians hope that Neymar with the team will lead Brazil to global glory again in the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 which is to be played in November this year in Qatar.
