Netflix has now officially announced the second season of the famous South Korean show of 2021, Season 2 of Squid Game, which is set to return for a second season. The announcement was made on June 12, Sunday. In an official statement Hwang Dong-Hyuk, the director, writer and executive producer of Squid Game, confirmed the return of Lee Jung Jae and Lee Byung Hun. He also gave a hint of the Gong Yoo’s return and even gave a clue of another deadly doll.

He also added a few words and talked about the first season saying, “It took 12 years to bring the first season of Squid Game to life last year. But it only took 12 days to become the most popular Netflix series ever”. As the writer, director and producer of the Squid Game a huge shout out to the fans around the world. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the director of Squid Game said the second season could be arriving at the end of 2023 or 2024. So the fans will have to wait a little longer for the latest season. The famous South Korean series became Netflix’s most successful series ever at launch. The co-CEO of Netflix Ted Sarandos claimed that it was just the beginning of the Squid Game Universe. That sounded like a clue for the fans earlier as they already had this anticipation of the season two’s arrival and now with the official statement all the doubts are gone.

The fans of Squid Game are already excited to hear the news. Perhaps for them, there was never a doubt that season 2 would arrive sooner or later. Because even in the first season of the show, at the end of it there was a hint given that the game will continue. Now the official statement coming from Netflix is just a confirmation for it.
