Because there are tons of evidence out there that have proven that sleep deprivation can be detrimental to your health and experts even say if you consistently sleep less than six or seven hours a night it can destroy your immune system and could double the chances of you getting cancer.

Set a go-to-sleep and waking-up routine
The first thing you have to do is you have to sleep at a particular time every night and you have to wake up in the morning at a decided time every single day. Don’t try to avoid this schedule as sometimes when there is a Sunday morning we tend to tell ourselves that its Sunday I can sleep a bit more today in case you do such a thing break your schedule of sleep you will find it difficult on Monday to wake up at the same time because of that late waking up on Sunday.
Try avoiding naps after 3 p.m.
We tend to take a nap in the afternoon after a day full of hectic work. So, we fall asleep not knowing it is an afternoon nap that sometimes goes longer than expected. Why avoid such naps? Because these naps will make it harder for you to fall asleep at night. Therefore, for a better night’s sleep of 8 hours, one should avoid naps after 3 p.m.
Exercise on Daily Basis
Exercising on a daily basis makes it your routine because it helps to sleep better and exercising as a whole is good for our body and health as it is a healthy activity. But it should be done at a certain time and avoid exercising within 3 hours before going to bed.
No more heavy meals and drinks at night
If we consume too much just before our time to go to bed, it is going to make it tough to sleep. You might feel like you want to sleep after such a meal. But, it actually is not going to help you get proper sleep at night. So better have heavy eating in the afternoon or in the morning (breakfast). Also, avoid such heavy meals and drinks for the dinner. Better prefer light meals as you have to get proper sleep at night.
Stay away from your gadgets
Stay away from your devices such as mobile and tablets. Because they emit blue light that thwarts your way to peaceful sleep. So no more using your cell phone before going to bed. As those blue lights that are emitting from computers, tablets, or mobile phones can trick your brain into that it is still the daytime. Therefore, you won’t sleep as you want to or will delay falling asleep. So avoid it and instead read a book that can be a good habit before going to bed.
Create a restful environment
Less lights and a darker room are going to indicate to your body that it is time for sleep and your room temperature should also be to an ideal temperature and the ideal temperature for optimal sleep is said to be between 60 and 67 degrees Fahrenheit which is good for better sleep.
